If you reinstall Windows on the same machine, activation will still work.
For use on a different computer, a new license is required.

If you replace your computer or the old system is no longer used, or the
drive is moved to a new machine, you do not automatically lose your license.
In such cases, you can simply contact us and we’ll help you re-activate
the license on the new system. We don’t expect users to keep buying
licenses just because hardware changes.
